How to Rank First in CMPUT 365

I ranked first in CMPUT 365 Introduction to Reinforcement Learning with Dr. Rupam Mahmood in Winter 2022 with a final grade of 103.90%, A+.

Here, I share some tips for doing well in this course.

• Get bonus points by participating in lectures and answering questions on Slack. In general, in any class, flat bonus percentage makes it far easier to Rank 1.
• Do the completion Coursera work.
• Be careful and make no errors on the exams.
• Know how to prove everything from scratch.
• Develop a rigorous formula sheet on your own.
• Do the worksheets, especially the ones touched on in lecture.
• If you find lectures boring, watch the records at two times speed.
• Answer other people’s questions, it helps you understand concepts more deeply.
• It is totally possible to speculate and imagine what questions are on the exam, and ensure you know how to answer the speculated questions.
